The Story of Koljander
Early in the year 1980 a small group of friends sat down to plan how to harness their combined talents in a creative and profitable way. The group grew to 25 members and on 7 July 1980, Koljander had dropped its seed.
For 28 years Koljander has built up a reputation for traditional South African home baking and uniquely hand crafted gifts.
We are the largest co-operative Home Industry in South Africa and have been honored with numerous awards and prizes – not least having been voted as the “Best Home Industry in Johannesburg” for six consecutive years!
Our 50+ members will surprise you with a vast range of top quality baking items, truly South African jams and preserves, our country’s best teas and coffees and exquisitely hand made crafts. Visit us at Main Road Melville – we are looking forward to welcome you in our brightly coloured shop!

Die Koljander storie
Eendag, vroeg in 1980, het ‘n paar vriende planne begin maak om hul talente in te span en hul eie besigheid te begin. Die klein vriendekring het wyer uitgekring tot 25 lede en so open Koljander sy deure op 7 Julie 1980 in Melville.
Na meer as 20 jaar is Koljander tans die grootste Tuisnywerheid in Suid-Afrika en het ons al talle pryse en toekennings ontvang. Ons is onder meer die afgelope 6 jaar reeds aangewys as die “Beste Tuisnywerheid in Johannesburg”.
Koljander se meer as 50 lede sal u verras met ‘n groot verskeidenheid van top-kwaliteit gebak, eg-Suid-Afrikaanse gebotttelde produkte, droë vrugte, ons land se beste tee en koffie en unieke handgemaakte geskenke.
Kom besoek ons by Mainweg 11, Melville – ons sien daarna uit om u te verwelkom in ons kleurvolle winkel!
